Christmas Brunch with Child Survival India

This festive season, the Blue Energy Committee at Hilton New Delhi/Janakpuri planned Christmas Brunch with HIV infected children to bring the spirit of Christmas to the reach of all children, especially vulnerable kids. Though it is the most wonderful time of the year, for deprived kids, it is a season of loneliness.

As planned with Child Survival India, an NGO which helps HIV-infected kids and finds alternatives to rehabilitate them, Blue Energy Team Members went to one of the villages in North West Delhi and met 25 HIV-infected children. After arriving, we realized that they live in far-off places that are behind the times in growth and advancement.

We gave colorful caps and whistles to these small kids, and they enjoyed playing different tunes. In addition to this, we had rhymes and storytelling sessions, given by a few of these kids, and best performers were rewarded. The whole ambience was charged, and there was an atmosphere of great excitement.

Our chefs passionately created a sumptuous high protein diet menu for these kids, including Soya Milk, Bean Soup, Soya Rice, Lentil, Curd, and Brownie to make sure that they enjoyed every bit of it. The children were overwhelmed by the special menu crafted for them and cherished it all.

Before leaving, boxes of old clothes were also donated by our team to the Child Survival India’s representatives for distribution. The two hours spent with HIV-infected, underprivileged children offered a great learning experience and will always be an inspiration to organize many more initiatives for these little angels.
