Careers@Hilton Week offers a great opportunity to raise awareness of the diverse range of careers available in the hospitality industry and spotlight all the reasons Hilton is a great place to work. In order to attract more young people to work in hospitality industry, we organized Career @ Hilton, Shine your Future activity in DoubleTree by Hilton Shenyang. On May 17th, we invited more than 200 college students to the hotel, who came from Shenyang Normal University, Liaoning Normal University Haihua College, Shenyang University and Shenyang Institute of Engineering. First, we introduced Career @ Hilton purpose to all students and General Manager Steve gave opening speech. Then we presented Hilton’s milestones and global growth, especially in China. After that, we invited hotel HRD Shirley, Executive Housekeeper Jackie, F&B Director Paul, Health club manager Bill and Asst. ADD manager Mary to do career talk with all students. The atmosphere during this part kept warm and high. Students asked many career development questions which they extremely concerned about to these mentors. The last part of the activity is Career shadowing. All students were divided into 5 groups to learn some hotel working skills, which were Towel Animals Making, cocktails Making, Dessert Making, Massage and hotel functions tour. All students actively involved in the activity and enjoyed to learn the skills which they called it the MAGIC. Each group selected one winner who has the best performance during the activity. The winner was recognized by a customized gift. At the end of the activity, we took photo together and all students have a renewed sense of hospitality industry. We are Hilton, we are hospitality!
