Catch Me: Get Ready for July!

How did your first month of Catch Me go? We’ve received some outstanding catches and best practices. Try some of these ideas to supercharge your program as we head into the second leg.

“We are going to be giving catches for those who help with our hotel’s volunteer programs. We feel that part of catching a team Member at his or her best is when they are helping those in their community.” – Eric Peluschenko, Hilton Garden Inn Portland/Lake Oswego, OR

“We have our Catch Me wall in our main hallway for everyone to see. Each fish tells the story of who was caught, what they did, and who caught them.” – Crystal Stelle, HRCC Tampa, FL

“Our hotel is divided into four team based on the DoubleTree by Hilton brand promise values: Flexible Foxes, Cheerful Cheetahs, Thoughtful Tigers, and Honest Hawks. The departments are split up across teams to even out the playing field.” – Danielle Gould, DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Alice Springs, Australia

“We give cash not based on the person who gets the most catches, but to the one who does something memorable for guests.” – Shandi Liu, DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Jiaxing, China

“Every week, we review the previous week’s catches to determine who the Catch of the Week will be. We make our choice based on who is caught doing something extraordinary or who made the most catches that week. We always switch it up so that they do not know if the winner will be someone who was caught, or someone who made the catches.” – Rebecca Curtis, Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza, OH

“I send a weekly update to all of our managers with every Team Member who has NOT been caught, so we can make sure each person in the hotel receives recognition.” – Jenny Clements, Embassy Suites Portland – Downtown, OR

“We recognize three winners each week and try to switch up our categories. It could be Most Catches, Sweetest Catch, or Most CARE-ing catch. It could even be Best Guest Catch, Best Above and Beyond Catch, or best Team Member to Team Member Catch.” – Estela Rodriguez, DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Houston Downtown, TX

“Winners each week are given a themed prize that have something to do with being caught, such as a baseball mitt, fishing pole, birdcage, or butterfly net full of candy and a gift card that says, ‘We caught you!’” – Cynthia Oxendale, Hilton Greenville, NC
