June 12th is celebrated as Independence Day for the Philippines, or Araw ng Kalayaan (“Day of Freedom”), which commemorates the Philippine Declaration of Independence from Spain. It’s a national holiday of the Philippines that is also celebrated worldwide . During Independence Day in the Philippines, Government offices and schools take the day off and families and friends bond together and celebrate, which calls for a great opportunity to commemorate the history of the Philippines and to teach about the other monumental dates of when the Philippines have gained independence.
We gathered around the workplace last June 12,2013. Everyone was there to celebrate their country’s culture, people, present and, bright future.
