Chocolate Wonderland at Hilton San Diego Bayfront, CA.

Where do fantastical sea creatures and snow-flocked reindeer meet? At the chocolate train station where Father Christmas himself presides. This fairy tale land is the latest holiday creation by Master Pastry Chef Rudi Weider at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. Made from 500 pounds of sugar, 200 pounds of dark chocolate, 100 pounds of white chocolate, 1oo pounds of powdered sugar, 20 pounds of marzipan, and 5 pounds of edible gold dust this display lights up our lobby by the sea.

Each year, Chef Rudi builds a different masterful display of holiday cheer that delights Guests and Team Members alike. Chef Rudi learned his craft at a young age working in his family’s hotel and restaurant in Germany. His favorite media are fresh fruit, chocolate and ice cream, which can be used to create elaborate sculptures and decadent desserts.

This is one sweet tradition we truly forward to each year. Happy Holidays from all of us at the San Diego Bayfront!
