I have a contest every month for the Front Desk team. For April, they could earn Easter “eggs” by walk in revenue (to keep the adr up), getting guests to join Hilton HHonors, getting guests to scan our Trip Advisor QR code, and booking a future reservation for an in-house guest. Team Members earned eggs and the standings were posted each week.
At the end, Team Members selected plastic eggs from a basket. There was a $50 prize in one, as well as other Hampton logo item prizes or candy—every egg was a winner! Even got some submissions from other departments.
The results were great. We signed up 72 new HHonors members and booked nearly $15,000 in walk in revenue, booked four future reservations, and had seven people do TripAdvisor reviews. Now on to May’s contest … hmmm April showers bring May flowers….
