Embassy Suites Schaumburg Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Trish Kootstra,
Embassy Suites Chicago – Schaumburg/Woodfield, IL

On October 2, 2009 Embassy Suites in Schaumburg went Passionately Pink for a cure. All of our associates who donated $5.00 or more got to wear jeans to work (and pink shirts if they like) and all donations went to Susan G. Komen Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. In the lobby was a board explaining what our staff is up to and also giving the guests an opportunity to participate by putting a pink ribbon on our board where they can remember a loved one list someone in need of support. We raised over $200 our first day and with only 85 employees total. We all met in the lobby at 10:30 to mark our first Friday for the month to celebrate with a group photo (below). Everyone feels so good fighting for a cause.
