RAS AL KHAIMAH, UAE – 8 June 2014 – Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa, in cooperation with the Government of Ras Al Khaimah Human Resources department led by HR director Mohamed Abd Latif, hosted 60 emirati women for a seminar and showed them jobs and internship programmes available within the hospitality industry. The Human Resources and Learning & Development teams of Ras Al Khaimah have led the initiative and taken part in the Careers@Hilton Live: Youth in Hospitality Month, Hilton Worldwide’s largest ever global career event showcasing to young people the many opportunities available in the hospitality industry. The 60 eager and enthusiastic emirati women have shown great interest in fine culinary art, where the award-winning executive chef, Hany Mohammed, along with chef de cuisine, Fatah Gacem, spoke about culinary art and tips on building a career in the hospitality industry. Then, they were given a thorough tour of the 5-star kitchens with explanations on the functions of different culinary sections. Furthermore, the Hilton Worldwide’s Chef Apprentice Program was introduced by cluster HR Director, Idris Siddig. The programme aims to expose budding chefs into a range of culinary and business skills and reinforced through mentoring, on the job training and even job placement support. The programme is one of the milestones of Hilton Worldwide focusing on the leaders of tomorrow.
