Getting Creative with the Recognition Calendar at President Abraham Lincoln Springfield – a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, IL.

We created a CARE Committee calendar team. We went through each month of ideas and created a calendar that fit the needs of our hotel.

We set a game plan on how we are going to appreciate our departments. For instance, in January we are appreciating Maintenance. So far, we have treated them to donuts and coffee with the saying “We DONUT we’d do without your help.” We treated them to a buffet breakfast complete with paint can and roller centerpieces and construction tape decorating buffet. We will be giving them hats with the message “Hats off to our Maintenance Team.”

We had Team Members sign thank you notes that we will put in Maintenance work carts along with candy. And to wrap up the week, we are providing a steak lunch for the team!

The ideas presented on the Recognition Website helped us decide what “treats” we wanted to provide our Team Members. For the entire hotel team, we are celebrating Popcorn Day this month with yummy popcorn from a local mom and pop popcorn store. We’ve also put all the January birthdays and anniversaries into our calendar. We’ve had the managers all sign cards that we hand out on the Team Member’s birthday or anniversary along with certificates for soda/water and candy from our gift shop. The certificates were found on the Recognition Site and were PERFECT for what we are doing. Loved the template being available for us.

All in all, the calendar and Recognition Site are much-needed tools to guide us in preparing our game plan for recognizing and appreciating our Team Members!
