Hilton Tel Aviv, Israel, Donating Sandwiches to Children in Need.

Since July 2013, we have prepared and donate a meal a day to a 100 children in studying at “Charov” School who takes care of children with hyperactivity and behavior disorders from all the country.

The Idea came from a simple observation of the growing number of Israel’s poor.

Statistics reveal that a quarter of Israel’s 7.7 million citizens (1.9 million people) are living in poverty; among them are 850,000 hungry children.

Hilton Tel Aviv was built in the sixties and was one of the first Hotels in Tel Aviv. We always try to be as much involved as we can in our community since then.

That’s the reason why we thought of a way to help these kids.

Moreover we think that it’s a great opportunity to raise awareness of amongst our team members. We’re already working with different associations on different projects and we know that our team members are always willing to volunteer to improve the well been of our community.

To implement this project we thought to collaborate with the Leket organization- a member of the Global Food Banking Network (GFN).

Each morning two volunteers from our hotel (who are not a part of the kitchen team) are preparing 100 sandwiches, for about an hour, in the kitchen of the hotel.

Each meal is composed of:
– One sandwich
– Vegetables: cucumber and baby cherry tomatoes
– One fruit: apple, banana.
– A bottle of water

After the preparation we deliver the meals to the School so that the children will have their 10 o’clock meal.
