Individual TM’s Blood Donations

As part of Hilton’s Global Month of Service, we are delighted to handover the list of our team members who voluntarily enlisted to donate their blood for people in need at the time of emergency, to the local blood donation group called Shwe Kan Chae. Shwe Kan Chae is a not-for-profit blood donation group founded by young local volunteers with the aim of serving the community at their best. We thank to executive committee of Shwe Kan Chae for giving encouragements and brief on blood donation to our young enthusiastic first time donors. The limitation of blood bank at Thandwe hospital, blood couldn’t be stored for long and it is essential that blood donors are ready anytime when in need. One day after the handover, we received a call from Blood donors group that a patient was in need of blood type B. A new team member, Min Hun Saw who recently joined Ngapali from other province volunteered to donate blood. It was a good start. Then one after another, so far 5 TMs have donated their blood on different emergency situations for needy patients, sometime they were called on day off, night time, etc.. But, all of our 34 team members are always ready for donation call from Shwe Kan Chae group anytime from now on.

Helen (Hilton Nay Pyi Taw) says

The demand for blood has been surprising, a few times per week since starting, and all urgent cases – we wonder what happened before? The medical facilities and resources in Ngapali are extremely limited so this initiative is really life-saving in some instances. Well done to a selfless team
