Are You Ready to Celebrate International Mentoring Month?

January is International Mentoring Month. At Hilton Worldwide, we’re passionate about Creating Opportunities that engage and develop our Team Members. So how will you commemorate International Mentoring Month? Try recognizing the top trainers on your team, or passing out certificates to Team Members who have grown the most. If you need inspiration, check out these examples:

Sharing the Joy of Cooking. At Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya, Russia, it’s never too early to learn the joy of preparing and sharing food. In October, the Blue Energy Committee organized a cooking class for students at a local boarding school. Chef Alex taught the children to make tasty pizza and berry dessert. The children loved the experience—and there were probably a few future chefs in the bunch!

Perfection and Patience. You can feel Martha Torres’ impact throughout Hilton Garden Inn Dallas / Arlington Texas, TX. The Spirit of the Garden winner uses a hands-on approach with her team and won’t accept anything less than perfection—which leads to high SALT scores and even higher motivation. Martha is a mentor in her community. She coaches students with Down Syndrome to work in Laundry and Housekeeping.

Mentoring Master. The same traits that make The Luxury of Being Yourself™ winner Daniel Ahn, of Conrad New York, NY, popular with guests—dependability, professionalism, and organization—are the same traits that make him such a great leader. He spends hours mentoring others and meticulously training his team. He’ll do whatever to takes to boost morale and keep operations running smooth—to the point of once working 24 hours straight!
