When I first came on-board to this hotel, our turnover rate was “through the roof.” After implementing some recognition ideas – ice cream socials, watermelon socials, soda and candy cart, etc., plus using the Spirit of Embassy nominations, it seemed that the morale of the hotel was better. Team Members seemed to have a better attitude, knowing that we did care about them and appreciated all their hard work. Our turnover rate has reduced to less than half of the previous year’s. Many times, recognition doesn’t have to cost a lot.
