“Luring” Team Members Into Catch Me With a Fishing Party.

Here at the Embassy Suites Hotel – Livonia/Novi, we get the excitement rolling with a Catch Me at my Best with a fishing party. The General Manager, Robin Whitfield, and Director of Human Resources, Hillary Johnston, dressed up in fishermen outfits. We had a cake with the Nemo theme and lots of fishing decorations.

We bought kids fishing rods with plastic fish you had to try and hook. We set up the table with two buckets and two employees fishing in each bucket. With raffle tickets we drew employees names to go fishing. The first employee of each foursome to catch a fish got a prize. There were many smiles and laughs.

In years past, we had a few of the back of the house employees complain that they don’t get as many Catch me cards and do have as many chances to get cards by guests. This year we implemented a few different ways to win monthly prizes. Here is how it breaks down…

Big Fish – Award for the associate who receives the most cards in the month.
Big Swimmers – Associate with the most cards in each department for the month will be entered into a random drawing.
Finding Nemo – All associates who are nominated by a co-worker will be entered into a random drawing. Both the associate and their co-worker will win.
Catch of the Day – Managers will pick the best nomination for someone who really Made A Difference.
Lucky Fish – All cards submitted for the month will be entered into a random drawing.

So, we will have 6 winners a month instead of just a couple. The employees are excited that there are now many ways to win!
