Annette is famous for things that “only Annette” does for the hotel. She shines with our core values and lavishes guests, Team Members, and the community with special attention.
When it comes to unconditional moral support, Annette is unparalleled. She visits teammates in the hospital and attends to personal needs. Annette even circulated a questionnaire to gather Team Members’ personal preferences so they could be recognized appropriately.
She made the hotel brighter and more inspiring by hiring a local graffiti artist to vibrantly paint the back-of-house staircase. She even sourced a wall decal of Sonic, the Blue Energy mascot!
Annette regularly trades her personal time to work around others’ schedules and ensure quality training for her team. She spends weekends supporting the community and organizing the Tombola Store at “Around the World in a Day in 2012.” She’s raised more than £250 for the community—and charmed a cricketing legend into making the first donation with his team.
Annette worked with the Croydon Fire Fighting Service to make a fire engine available for a non-profit event benefiting children with severe autism. She volunteered to pain an allotment shed for M.I.N.D., a mental health charity.
But she doesn’t stop there. Annette has cleaned guest rooms and made beds to support the Housekeeping team during International Housekeeping Week, organized a wildly successful Hilton Careers Week, and even assisted sister hotels in implementing practices.
Thanks to her passion and drive, Annette has contributed to an 87 percent trust score, a 93 percent integrity score, and an incredible 98 percent “My Leaders Live the Core Values” score in the 2012 Team Member Survey. Considering all this, it’s no wonder the hotel leapt from number 13 to fourth place on Trip Advisor.
