With Rick around, it’s only natural that the hotel is ranked no. 1 on Trip Advisor with Rick’s name mentioned in countless reviews. As the hotel endured a carousel of management companies and GMs in the past years, Rick’s strength gave the team focus and direction. And it doesn’t matter if Rick is sick or injured—he’s back at work as soon as possible.
When the houseman/van drivers were struggling, Rick volunteered to take over the departments and make them thrive. He lopped off $67,000 in spending, and helped the hotel save $10,000 in utility expenses.
Rick is a team player and a Renaissance man. He helps make beds, busses tables, assists the Front Desk, and handles guest issues. When no one was available to give a couple a site tour, Rick stepped up to the challenge—and won their business! Rick’s actions have resulted in more than $50,000 in business.
Rick’s leadership and dedication have made turnover in his department nearly non-existent. When the GM tasked Rick with nudging the hotel out of the “Acceptable” range on QA scores, he was able to help the hotel skyrocket to two “Outstanding” scores.
Rick’s the kind of guy who won’t leave until all the work is done. This means helping guests and Team Members fix their cars, giving them a ride, or lending cash. When a GM’s pipe burst at home, Rick mended it—free of charge.
When work is overloading and the housekeepers have too many rooms to clean, Rick often buys pizza (out of his own funds) to keep them energized and motivated.
Congratulations to our CEO Light & Warmth Award winner!
