Linda St. Pierre,
Executive Housekeeper – Doubletree Hotel & Executive Center Palm Beach Gardens, FL
Our activities included…
We set up a pajamas and a movie day in one of our conference rooms…just like a movie theater with a popcorn machine to pop fresh popcorn, movie candy by the box and drinks.
We created a movie ticket and you had to wear you PJ’s to come to the movie. We arranged for all the housekeepers to work until 2pm then we all enjoyed the movie. We watched “Maid in Manhattan” with Jennifer Lopez. My staff had a great time they are still talking about it. We also crowned the King and Queen of Housekeeping for the second year in a row voted on by the staff.
We had a contest for the Housekeeping team to decorate a chef’s hat. There was a 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place. They all got great prizes
The F&B department hosed a Breakfast for the Housekeeping team. It was a great way to start the morning.
Front Desk hosted a relay race with Laundry team including pillow cases towel folding contest against Housekeeping. We had a soap stacking and a vacuum contest using Doubletree entry mats covered with white powder. The fastest person to clean the mat cleaned won. All the winners received a gift bag from the Front Desk team with Doubletree products, including a DT baseball hat, Chip the cookie, candy, and of course chocolate chip cookies to enjoy when they got home.
The Sales team hosted a catered buffet lunch brought in from a local company including homemade deserts which the ladies in Sales made themselves.
Accounting & Engineering hosted Pizza and ice-cream day.
And the last day the GM hosted a all family B.B.Q. in which you could bring your family and use the pool. The G.M. was the chef that day. We had a bounce house water slide, bean toss game, face painting and hair braiding…all done by team members at the hotel. It was a great way to finish off the week
