Believe it or not, I already have my Catch Me wall up with a daily countdown until the June 1st launch. In years past, we have done a variety of themes: Pirate Treasure, Fishing, Baseball, and BINGO! This year our theme is Catch a “SUPER STAR”. My decorations are arriving next week, so temporarily, I have signs up all down the hallway saying “This wall is under “Catch Me” Construction. I have star tablecloths coming to hang from the ceiling, which will act as the sky. There will be stars hanging down from the ceiling as well. I also have red and blue foil stars to symbolize Catch Me colors, which are each 5 inches in diameter. Each Team Member will have their name written on one of these stars to be displayed in the hallway under their department, which in addition, they can decorate themselves if they’d like. Everyone starts out as a STAR and is recognized!
Each department will have their own section in the hallway to record Catches daily as they come in with Star stickers. We will place the cards up on the wall and then each week, we will pick a star from each department who was most recognized for that week and they will win a small prize. Then, out of those stars in the departments, the Management Team will pick the “SUPER STAR” of the week, who will get a medallion to wear and a gift card. You can make it fun and exciting with smaller prizes given to multiple people weekly so people stay connected to the program. If you only pick one person to win weekly, then it can be frustrating to the team. Some small prizes I picked up are: star pens, star notebooks, star sunglasses, star clappers, and star can covers to stay in theme (purchased through Oriental Trading for gifts and decorations), and I will also go out and get some inexpensive prizes from the local Dollar Store like candy bars, candles, and so forth. As for the weekly super star winners, I will go out and get a $10 gift card for coffee, gasoline, or the grocery store. This is costly when you have 3 months (12-14 weeks) of winners, but we budget to spend this amount every year.
