We have started an honorable mention for each quarter throughout the year.
If a guest mentions your name in a SALT score, then that person will win $100 for the quarter. If there’s a tie, then it is split.
I started this during the last quarter of 2011, and we had two winners. This really got everyone motivated for customer service, and we improved our scores by 3%. We also gave the winners a certificate of recognition. It really worked.
The 4th Quarter winners both received $50 cash and a certificate of recognition.
I put up the SALT scores and included the winners’ names. This motivates everyone else to try harder to be mentioned next time.
