I would like to share our recognition initiative at the Hilton Ras Al Khaimah and Hilton Ras Al Khaimah resort and Spa.
We celebrate all monthly initiatives. In April, the Laundry Manager was on leave and his assistant Francis Fernandes ensured that the Laundry month was celebrated.
He used the Tips from the “Recognition Matters!” newsletter to create a recognition calendar. On a weekly basis, we had activities which was a complete surprise for their team.
Week 1: A flip chart was used for “thank you cards”. All department heads wrote comments and thanked the laundry team for their hard work. The thank you cards were then put on the laundry notice board.
Week 2: Refreshment drinks and snacks in a gift bags were given to the team during the day. They were delivered by the Resort manger, Mr Jacques Claudel.
Week 3: An afternoon of snacks and cakes. It was the time to take a break and let the team members enjoy. This celebration was attended by our Hotel Manager, Mr Erwin van der Veen. Laundy month t-shirts were given and were worn during the entire week.
Week 4: Games and grand celebration. A few games were organised for the team. For example, they had to search and find items in the hotel related to laundry. Prizes were given, and recognition certificates were given to all the Laundry & Linen team members. Snacks, cakes and drinks were served for the team.
In May, we recognized Finance, IT and purchasing. Each team member received a personalized mug with their picture on it. They also went to Hilton Fujairah to spend a fun day in a boat and did some activities on the beach.
This month, Security and Safety month started and we started will be sharing our pictures and activities at the end of month.
All recognitions initiatives are cluster for both our properties.
