For Valentine’s Day, Adrienne Sutherland, assistant to the general manager, and the team at Hilton Vancouver Metrotown in British Columbia, Canada, took hospitality to a new level when they pushed aside the candy hearts and focused on the warm, pumping variety. On Feb. 13, the Team sold Valentine’s Day cards for $1 each to raise money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
“We felt we did rather well,” says Sutherland. “We were very proud of our check.” The check, by the way, was written before the fundraiser. The 175-person team worked together to blow past all expectations. They raised $425 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
