Using Safety Bingo to Reduce Accidents and Injuries.

At our hotel, we play bingo to encourage our employees to be safe at work. If the hotel does not experience a loss work day for an injury, then the game goes on until a winner for $50.

After someone wins, new cards are issued for another game.

We feel as if this does help for all the smaller injuries that used to come more noticed.

We are actually having much success with our Safety Bingo program at our properties this year as well. We changed around the program to where if a team member has an accident, then that department stops playing Bingo immediately and has to sit out the next game as well. We have 4 winners and it’s based on a first come basis – prizes are $100, $75, $50, and $25. This way we keep playing Bingo year round to keep safety at the forefront of everyone’s minds. The result has been zero OSHA recordable accidents at one of our properties and only 4 at our 2nd property.
Hi Darrelle – we order our cards from a company called Mr. Bingo.

We also play safety bingo, however, we add $5 everyday to the “pot”. If there is an accident, we still pull numbers/letters, but the pot goes down to $5 and starts building again. We have had great success and use it as a great tool to talk about workplace safety.
