Take Time to Recognize Those Who Reach Out.

Across Hilton Worldwide, we share a deep-rooted commitment to strengthen communities and fill the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality. We are also dedicated to creating opportunities for others to flourish and foster a diverse and inclusive culture.

Today, take a moment to recognize Team Members who exemplify this focus and thank them for everything they do to strengthen our communities and make our world a better place. The recognition may just be enough to encourage more of this positive behavior, and encourage other Team Members to join in.

We want to recognize a few Team Members who take time to recognize their communities.

  • To honor the memory of a charitable Team Member, the Banquet team at Embassy Suites Detroit – Southfield, MI, took ownership and created a Thanksgiving Food Drive. Fifteen teammates were able to hand out 300 boxes stuffed with food to homeless in their area.
  • Hilton New York, NY, collaborated with City Harvest, an organization that feeds the hungry, to make use of more than 5,000 pounds of leftover food from the hotel.
  • Inspired by a guest, Hilton the Hague, Netherlands, began an initiative to collect Team Members’ old towels and donated them to Zeehonden Creche, an organization the helps nurse sick and abandoned seals.

Looking for a way to get more Team Members involved in the community? Take a tip from Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina, FL, who hosted a competitive food drive for a local food bank. This winter, Split Team Members into groups and ask them to bring in old clothes, coats, and blankets, and give the donations to a shelter.

When your hotel gives back, you can make a difference for others while boosting morale, building teamwork, and creating lasting good will for your property. Be sure to recognize these good deeds by announcing them at meetings or other team gatherings, and award a certificate that can be displayed in a public area for all to see.
