Top GMs from across Hilton discuss how they use recognition to motivate their team, improve performance, and address business objectives. Watch video.

Thanks for Making International Housekeeping Week a Week to Remember!

Thanks for all the wonderful ideas we received during International Housekeeping Week! This September, hotels across Hilton Worldwide took time to recognize their Kings and Queens of clean, and say thanks for a job well done. And in doing so, these hotels are positively impacting team moral and performance.

We received lots of great ideas. Here are just a few of our favorites…

Hilton Antwerp, Belgium, held a Olympic-style competition involving their Housekeeping team and celebrated the International diversity of their team by having team members dress in clothing specific to their home country. See the pictures.

Doubletree Naples, FL, went all out! They initiated a “Cookie Necklace of Recognition,” had a Rock ‘n’ Roll themed party, took the team on a Kayaking expedition, and ended the week with pedicures.

In Egypt, Hilton Taba Resort & Nelson Village, Hilton Hurghada Long Beach Resort, and Hilton Pyramids Golf Resort, all WOWed us with their amazing towel sculptures. These are truly works of art!

Hampton Inn Harrisburg-East (Hershey Area), PA, showed us that recognition doesn’t have to be complicated…or costly. They held a popular “Dumpster Dash” contest where Housemen run to the dumpster, deposit a bag, and return. See the details.

Last but not least, Homewood Suites Sacramento Airport-Natomas, CA, showed us that they weren’t afraid to get dirty…or gooey as the case may be. They continued their annual tradition of having Housekeeping team members “pie the managers.” The managers were great sports! See the photos.

Take a moment to read their stories. And to see all of the great stories we received, click here.
