Van Mahotsava, a weeklong festival of tree planting, is organized every year in the month of July all across India. It is an annual exercise carried out in the rainy season by the forest department by planting hundred thousands of trees, in order to not only increase green cover but also sensitize youth on the conservation and enhancement of green cover.
Hundreds of fully-grown trees disappeared from the main roads of Delhi during the Metro Project, and not many efforts were made to replace them.
With this thought in mind, our Team Members at HNDJ planted about 50 saplings around hotel premises and periphery area.
Despite the humid and hot climate outside the Team Members planted saplings and enthusiastically returned their bit to Mother Nature.
