You’ve heard us talk about using recognition as a tool to achieve business goals, such as higher performance scores and increased occupancy. So, we know that recognition has a long term impact on the success of a hotel, what impact does it have on Team Members.
Statistics have shown that more than half of employees say they would leave their jobs if they weren’t regularly recognized. Think about it: If you never tell a Team Member that you value his or her contributions, what is their incentive to show up to work and try to improve?
Team Members who feel recognized will feel responsible for their performance and strive to grow in their positions. When they grow, they flourish. And when Team Members flourish, the hotel is profitable because guests are well taken care of. It’s a win-win situation!
